This research is at the intersection of two disciplines, namely intangible heritage and tourism studies. This is in keeping with UNESCO's focus areas there intangible heritage studies not only show an increased focus on intangible heritage in super diverse environments.
There is also an increased focus on how tourism can contribute to safeguarding intangible heritage. Both of these perspectives come together in this research on how tourism can contribute to safeguarding intangible heritage in extremely diverse environments.
